Mingling! Fun times. Also, could there be some sort of underlying theme starting to brew here?
We’re almost at the halfway point here, so what do you guys think of Epiphany so far? Anything you like? Anything you’d like changed? Unlike TEO, this story is a work in progress– eventually I want to get it up to good enough standards that a legitimate publishing company will put it into print as a graphic novel. (That’s also why the story is moving much slower than TEO. It’s meant to be a single story unit rather than as a series of episodic installments.) If you have any feedback, I’d greatly appreciate it.

I seem to remember that Epiphany was going to be about your views on religion?
I’ve tried (and failed) in the past to express my views on ANYTHING, including religion.
So if it turns out that this is what I’m thinking it will be, I envy you greatly, in a good way.
Slight nitpick: Andrew’s last line at the bottom should be moved a bit closer to him, as it looks like the bird dude is saying it. Other than that, I like how this story is moving along slowly, gives the reader time to get more acquainted with the characters
Panel one is wonderfully dramatic.
Plus, that is so like an older, paunchier Kracker.
I did notice pretty quickly how different it was from TEO. Mainly in that, as you said, it’s a lot slower moving, but also that it does not rely so heavily on humour.
Epiphany doesn’t really draw you in at the beginning as much, the situation with the principal just loosely held my interest. And that’s mostly because the characters are anthropomorphic. If they were all human, the comic would lose its spice.
And because of its lack of humour, compared to TEO, I find it less enjoyable for me personally.
But I think it was a very good choice on your part in making the character’s anthro. It’s more interesting, plus you get a more direct sense of what the characters like just by their appearance, compared to a human character. Their world is also an area of interest. I want to learn more about their religion, and I like how it mirrors the real world, with the use of the term “Gods”.
I like that this story is more character driven, which TEO lacked. You feel sympathy towards them, and you can relate to them on some level. I’d like to see more character development for Eli, as a main character, he needs to be more likeable.
I like pretty much all the character’s, even Andrew now.
And that’s all I have to say for now.
Wait I thought that Falcon Guy was the only one talking in the last panel. And Andrew is just standing there after his little rant drinking.
If this is not the case then psychacat is right. Or I am just really confused.
I’m liking the story so far.
Can’t wait to see what happens next.
Poor Andrew. Y’know, the bird dude’s response kinda proves his point. I reallly like the characters.
Believe it or not, I was actually thinking about that yesterday. Your comics being picked up by a grapics company that is.
I think the hardest part about that would be getting into circulation. Not like, on the shelfs, but like, being passed around to readers. Since people are so devotedly and unchangingly devoted to stuff from Japan. (not that I don’t read Manga, But I also read Bone and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and the some super hero stuff. Home town kinda things.) The most difficult part is reaching out to those type of people. Tho, lately I’m seeing more people who’ll pick up a comic book in gerenal for the art or story. And a solid story you do have. (I like the art too, but I know some people who might not like it as much as me. But then again, that’s art in general.)
I really liked TEO too. It’s what started me reading your comics. That and chimbley sweep. I think something really colorful and comical like TEO is actually a good attention grabber for readers. I wouldn’t count it out of publishable stuff so fast. (by the way, When I say colorful I’m not actually talking about the fact it was in color. I mean story and reading wise.)
You seem to be really good at turning out a few pages a week, which I think is a real amazing skill.
I can’t wait to see what happens next
(ps: Sorry if I misspelled anything. I can do that sometimes)
